Lexus Of Chattanooga

The Lexus dealership of Chattanooga was one of the first facilities to be built in the United States. The initial showroom and sales offices were so small that they quickly outgrew the original facility. The sloping site was surrounded by a longstanding neighborhood that created many challenges when the need for expansion occurred. There was not a prototype design that would accommodate the odd configuration and slopes of the site. TWH worked closely with the owner and Lexus officials to create a design for the expanded facility that would meet functional needs and cost constraints while depicting the Lexus image. The solution was a two-story facility with the expanded showroom on the upper level and pre-own vehicles on the lower level accessed by a monumental staircase. The two-story design provided panoramic views from the showroom and sales floor over the car lot below. The new service center is also two-stories with vehicular storage on the roof to accommodate required inventory on a relatively small site. As a result, ownership and Lexus officials are happy that they were able to retain their initial location while maintaining their image and growth needs.
